Ross Park Primary School Mountain Bike Program Term 4 2024

October 16 at 6:45 am - December 4 at 8:00 am

$40
School Mountain Bike Program

Hello Families,

Welcome!

We have great news! Wellness on Wheels and Ross Park Primary School will continue to offer the Mountain Bike (MTB) Program in Term 4 this year.

Financial support from the school has reduced the program fee to $40 per child.

This is a popular program with limited vacancies. Students are offered places based on skill level, experience, and age. We intend to offer a girls’ only group but need a minimum of 4 females to register.

This is not a ‘learn to ride a bike’ program. It is a MTB program for students who can confidently use brakes, and gears and are ready to ride designated mountain bike trails.

Please note:

  • The program’s focus is to have fun riding on mountain bike trails with friends and parents, and build skills and confidence. Students are grouped according to skill level and led by the same volunteer trained and experienced MTB Instructor each session.
  • Breakfast will be provided at school from 8.00am to 8.20am in Mr Sheriff’s classroom after each session. A big thank you to CARR – the local mountain bike club for their continued support of the program.
  • Parental support is welcome and encouraged. Adult supervision while mountain biking helps provide a safer program and parent help serving breakfast is necessary, and fun!

If you would like your child to be involved take these two steps:

  • first, make sure your child has AusCycling membership, see details below.
  • second, register for the program here by Monday 14 October 2024.

AusCycling Membership

The next step to ensure your child can start the program on Wednesday 16 October is to make sure their AusCycling membership is current.
Please do the following by Monday 14 Otcober:
  • purchase or renew your child’s membership via TidyHQ and this link: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership
  • Regarding AusCycling membership you may want a 4-week free trial, a Lifestyle monthly $9.50, or an annual $81 membership. This is insurance and necessary to participate in the program. When asked to select a club please choose Central Australian Rough Riders. They charge $20 for juniors. If you don’t select a club you will be charged a $25 fee.
  • If you need support email membership@auscycling.org.au.
  • please send me a screenshot confirming your child’s CURRENT AusCycling membership status.

Sport Vouchers

You may use a Sports Voucher for AusCycling membership. The steps for this are:
  • pay for AusCycling membership upfront
  • send a copy of the receipt, a copy of the sports voucher, and your bank account details to [email protected] to get reimbursed.
Once you’ve completed this you can register here for the program.
